The Galleries of Justice, housed in the Grade II listed Shire Hall building in Nottingham's city centre, is one of the most paranormally active locations in England.
From original courtrooms and cells dating from Victorian times, to its medieval caves, the Galleries of Justice was the only place you could have been tried, convicted, imprisoned and executed at the same building...In fact hangings took place on the entrance steps!
The Galleries has a number of paranormally active hotspots, including:
• Two courtrooms
• The 19th century prison
• Prison exercise yard
• The womens prison area
• The bath house / laundry
• Cave system
In fact nearly every area of the Galleries of Justice has a ghostly story to tell.
Among the paranormal activity experienced at the Galleries:
• Shadows and Footsteps in the courtyard
• Unexplained noises and bangings
• Voices
• Inexplicable cold breezes
• Light anomalies
• Doors shutting
• Strange smells
• Trigger objects moving
• Feelings of being watched
